Grooming

We believe that keeping your pet groomed is an important factor in overall health.  We can assist with basic grooming including: bathing, clipping matted hair, clipping or plucking excess ear hair, cleaning ears, trimming nails, expressing anal glands, clipping or trimming nuisance hair that covers or becomes matted around eyes and face, sanitary trim for hair that becomes soiled from excrement waste products, and trimming or clipping excess hair on the feet and around paw pads.

Many of our pet patients have a variety of skin problems that can benefit and even be treated with medicated bathing.  We will gladly assist in selecting a medicated shampoo that suits your pet’s individual skin needs and determine an appropriate bathing schedule to treat medical skin problems and, if needed, we can schedule medicated baths to be performed in our facility.  In some cases of significant skin disease, we may recommend a partial or full body clip to remove damaged, unhealthy hairs and allow the underlying infected skin to obtain treatment and heal more quickly.

Many pets have anxiety and become stressed with certain grooming procedures.  Let us take the stress out of your pet’s grooming by recommending an anti-anxiety medication or light sedative medication before the grooming procedure.  We will gladly discuss options that can be customized to fit your pet’s needs.

Please contact our office if you have any questions about grooming, medical skin or ear problems, medications to help ease your pet’s fear of grooming procedures, or would like to schedule grooming services.
