Internal Medicine

Veterinary internal medicine practice is the prevention, diagnosis, and medical treatment of internal disease processes.  These diseases can encompass a broad range of complex and advanced diseases affecting many pets over their life span.  We utilize extensive historical information about your pet and thorough physical examination of your pet, paired with our diagnostic tools (laboratory and radiology) to diagnose many internal medicine diseases.  Once a diagnosis has been made, we offer individualized treatment options to manage your patient’s medical problem.  Many of these diseases require long term management, treatment, and follow up monitoring, but do not worry, our care does not end at the time of diagnosis; our compassionate team will be beside you, guiding you through your pet’s treatment the entire time, supporting you and your pet.

In some cases of complicated internal medicine problems, we will discuss referral of your pet to a specialty veterinary hospital.  We work closely with board certified veterinary specialists in the fields of Internal Medicine, Oncology, Cardiology, Neurology, Emergency and Critical Care, and Ophthalmology.  If your pet has special health care needs that require more advanced diagnostics or treatment options, we will assist you in the referral process of contacting and working with a veterinary specialist and will keep open lines of communication between our hospital and the specialist to offer the best care possible for your pet.

Please contact our office if you have any questions about your pet’s internal health or would like to schedule a medical consultation to discuss your pet’s health.
